LEGO FISHING ROD

I’ll be honest — I bought this thinking it would just be a fun little project to pass the time. I’ve tried other build kits before and some of them felt flimsy once finished. This was different. The reel mechanism actually moves, and the fishing line goes down and winds back up smoothly, which honestly surprised me. It doesn’t feel like a cheap novelty. The detail around the reel area is what impressed me most — you can tell some thought went into the design. It took me about two evenings to finish, and the whole process was genuinely relaxing. Now it’s sitting on my office shelf and people always ask about it during calls. It’s one of those things you don’t regret buying.

Got this for my husband because he loves fishing and building things. I was worried it might feel childish, but it really doesn’t. Once assembled, it looks clean and surprisingly premium. He finished it in one evening and was way more excited than I expected.

I love fishing and I also collect unique desk pieces, so this checked both boxes for me. I was a little skeptical about the moving parts at first, but the reel motion is smooth and works exactly how it’s supposed to. The build took me a few hours spread over two nights, and it never felt cheap or rushed. What I like most is that it doesn’t scream “toy.” It has that mechanical feel that makes it interesting even after it’s done. I’ve already had two friends ask where I got it.
